The Late Show host Stephen Colbert mocked Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night for the FBI releasing its report on her private email server the Friday before Labor Day weekend.
Colbert asked the audience starting at the 6:40 mark in the embedded video whether they had heard about the latest report on Clinton’s emails.
"Probably not because they put it out the Friday before Labor Day. You can’t hide that news more if you welded it inside a lead capsule and fired it into the heart of the sun," Colbert said.
Colbert then addressed one of the revelations from the the FBI report regarding Clinton’s use of several mobile devices.
"One of the revelations of this latest email dump is that Secretary Clinton didn’t use just one smart phone in office as secretary of state as she originally claimed. She used up to 13 different mobile devices in four years. Thirteen cell phones," Colbert said.
He then rhetorically asked Clinton whether she was a "crack dealer" since she had so many mobile devices.
"Because I can’t figure out why else you would need 13 phones," Colbert added.
The FBI report released last Friday revealed that 13 different mobile devices were associated with Clinton’s two known phone numbers during her tenure at the State Department and could have been used to send and receive emails.
The Washington Free Beacon previously reported that these 13 mobile devices could not be located.
While the Justice Department asked Clinton’s attorneys at Williams & Connolly to turn over the 13 devices, the lawyers said in February that "they were unable to locate any of these devices," according to the documents.
"As a result, the FBI was unable to acquire or forensically examine any of these 13 mobile devices," the documents state.
FBI Director James Comey cleared Clinton of any charges back in July regarding her private email server, but Comey did call her handling of highly sensitive classified information "extremely careless."
