NH Voter: Clinton Isn't Believable

February 8, 2016

CNN asked a New Hampshire voter at a rally for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) why she is not supporting Hillary Clinton in a clip that aired Monday.

The woman said that she did support Clinton in 2008, but could not vote for her now.

"I don't think she is believable. I just—I don't have the good vibes about her that I have about Bernie," she said.

The reporter then asked the woman's granddaughter, who was also supporting Sanders, why she would not support Clinton.

"Well, I did start out this election supporting Hillary because I thought, you know, it's time to have a woman president. You finally just took a huge leap and bound electing someone who is African American," she said. "Why can't we have a woman? But then Bernie ran for president and I loved his ideas. You know, it's time for a political revolution and it's time to pay attention to the middle class because we are diminishing."

This does not bode well for Clinton, who has trouble with younger voters.

According to CNN, nearly 85 percent of voters under 24 years old went to Sanders in the Iowa caucus. According to another poll of voters age 18 to 29, 75 percent are supporting Sanders over Clinton in New Hampshire. Among voters age 18 to 24 in the 2008 New Hampshire primaries, Clinton received only 22 percent of the vote.
