Washington Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles was on Hannity Thursday night after he unearthed ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos’ donations to the Clinton Foundation.
Stiles discovered Stephanopoulos donated $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation in recent years. ABC partner Politico confirmed the story after Stiles and the Free Beacon contacted ABC and Stephanopoulos for comment. Later on, it was discovered Stephanopoulos had donated a total of $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation.
Stephanopoulos did not disclose the donations to ABC viewers when he talked about the Clinton Foundation and the controversy that surrounds it with foreign donations.
Stephanopoulos apologized for not disclosing the donations and called it an "honest mistake."
"It’s certainly questionable that he seems to have forgotten about it and is just coming forward now," Stiles said.
It is no surprise the Stephanopoulos is close to the Clinton family. He served a lead role in Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign and later served as an aide in the White House.
"Most people who cover politics closely and follow it and people in D.C., everyone knows his connection to the Clintons, that he was an operative, and aren't surprised he made a little donation or, you know, $75,000 donation," Stiles said.
"I don't know if most ABC news viewers or Good Morning America viewers really know that, are really following the careers of political operatives as closely as political reporters."
