Liberal filmmaker and million-dollar-home owner Michael Moore said he thinks Detroit would be better off if it were located in Iraq or Syria, where terrorists have seized state facilities, beheaded journalists, and kidnapped teenage girls.
During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Moore discussed the Detroit water shut-offs that occurred for thousands of people since, at one point, 50 percent of Detroit residents were not paying their water bills.
"Is this some sort of social experiment they're trying to see how far can you push the poor?" Moore asked.
"Detroit at this point would stand a better chance if they were an Iraqi or Syrian city, in terms of getting some sort of help."
Moore said he wrote a letter to President Obama about this, reading, "Dear President Obama: God bless you, but you did not save Detroit. You saved General Motors. You saved Chrysler."
