Liberal billionaire Michael Bloomberg did not mention guns or gun control when he reeled off a list of "things that I care about" during an interview with Squawk Box Friday.
"Everything I have is going to go to the Bloomberg Philanthropies or directly to things that I care about," he said. "Climate change and the arts and public health and Johns Hopkins and other educational institutions."
Bloomberg, a fierce advocate for gun control, recently announced his aim to spend $50 million on measure to oppose the National Rifle Association and influence the 2014 elections. Media outlets like NBC seemed to be cheerleading the initiative, treating him to a softball interview on Today.

ANDREW ROSS SORKIN: Final question. Do you like being back at work?
MICHAEL BLOOMBERG: Love it. It's fascinating. I'm so proud of what I've built and all the other people behind me more than 12 years ago and particularly in the last 12 years. Peter Grauer, Dan Doctoroff have taken the company along with all of the 16,000 people and made it better than ever.
SORKIN: What happens to it? Is that a company you ultimately sell? Is it a company that goes public?
BLOOMBERG: No, I've said eventually it becomes the property of the foundation. Everything I have is going to go to the Bloomberg Philanthropies or directly to things that I care about. Climate change and the arts and public health and Johns Hopkins and other educational institutions. One of the things that Peter Grauer always says is where else can you work for a company where 100 percent of the profits go to charity.
