President Trump and the mainstream press are engaged in a symbiotic, love-hate relationship: Both entities are dead-set on slamming their rival on a daily basis, but they also have found one another beneficial to their respective agendas.
Trump, continuing on a theme from the contentious presidential campaign, has delighted his base by consistently lambasting the "fake news" press for reporting on his White House's problems, at one point tweeting that the media is the American people's "enemy."
The left-leaning mainstream media has, in kind, admittedly found a renewed sense of purpose in opposing a Republican president after about eight years in time-out mode, for some strange reason.
