Several reporters freaked out on Sunday after Fox News reported on former Republican National Committee finance chair Steve Wynn's donations to Nevada Democrats.

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported several employees' accounts of the chief executive of Wynn Resorts Ltd. committing sexual misconduct. Among the accusations is that Wynn coerced a female manicurist to have sex with him and later paid the woman a $7.5 million settlement.

Wynn has denied the allegations.

"The idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous," Wynn said.

The RNC faced mounting pressure over the weekend to fire Wynn and return his donations, especially after the RNC criticized Democrats for accepting disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein's donations and called on them to return his donations. Wynn has given $100,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee and thousands of dollars to specific Republican candidates like Nevada Senator Dean Heller.

Wynn resigned from his position at the RNC on Saturday.

"Effective today I am resigning as Finance Chairman of the RNC," Wynn said in the statement Saturday. "The unbelievable success we have achieved must continue. The work we are doing to make America a better place is too important to be impaired by this distraction. I thank the President for the opportunity to serve and wish him continued success."

On Sunday, Fox News aired a report about the donations Wynn also made to Nevada Democrats.

Wynn owns a major resort on the Las Vegas strip and donated to Nevada politicians from both parties for years. In response to Fox News pointing this fact out, several reporters freaked out.
