Fox Calls Out White House for Blaming Obamacare Premium Spikes on GOP

October 27, 2016

Fox News correspondent Kevin Corke reported Thursday on an exchange he had with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest in which Earnest blamed the recent Obamacare premium spikes on Republicans.

Corke was speaking with Fox host Neil Cavuto when they played a clip from Thursday's White House press briefing. Corke asked Earnest in the clip about the rising premiums under Obamacare that will hit next year.

"Why do you feel like so many people think the law isn't working?" Corke asked Earnest.

"In spite of the politically motivated attacks against the Affordable Care Act launched by Republicans. The American people are benefiting from the law, and they would benefit even more from the law if Republicans would finally decide to do something other than just score political points," Earnest responded.

Corke made sure the viewers caught Earnest's argument after the clip was played.

"Did you catch that?" he said. "It's not the law, it's the Republicans' fault. At least that's what they're selling at the White House press briefing."

Using numbers from a recent government report, Corke ended the segment by citing the rising premiums in states like Arizona and Oklahoma, where premiums while increase in some cases by 116 percent and 69 percent, respectively.
