President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening talked about "cutting through the fake news filter" to speak directly to supporters, causing rally-goers to chant "CNN sucks."
"I'm here this evening to cut through the fake news filter and to speak directly to the American people," Trump said at his rally in Youngstown, Ohio. The crowd started booing the media.
"Fake news. Fake, fake, fake news," Trump added.
The crowd then started chanting "CNN sucks," as a clapping Trump observed from the stage.
"Boy oh boy, what people. Is there any place that's more fun, more exciting, and safer than a Trump rally?" Trump asked the crowd, which cheered in response.
Trump has had a longstanding feud with CNN, originating last year during his presidential campaign. Then, the now-president began calling the network "fake news" for what he calls their slanted coverage of him.
