NBC wasn't particularly subtle about its strong affections for the Clinton family in a story about the birth of Chelsea Clinton's son.

In a gushing story for The Today Show website at NBC, Embry Roberts' piece concluded by issuing congratulations to Chelsea and America for "adding another bright Clinton mind to its ranks" with the birth of her son Aidan:

Chelsea announced the pregnancy back in December with an adorable photo of Charlotte, then 15 months old, reading a book titled "Big Sisters are the Best."

[...]

Hillary responded with an awesome PDG (Public Display of Grandmothering):

"Your dad and I could not be happier for you, Marc, and Charlotte," she wrote. "We're so excited to meet our second grandchild!"

We hope the family gets to spend some quality time together before Hillary takes off for her next round of appearances. (Thank goodness Chelsea wasn't due in October.)

Congrats to the family, and to America on adding another bright Clinton mind to its ranks.

Aidan is Chelsea Clinton's second child. She also has a daughter, Charlotte, who is frequently referenced on the campaign trail by her grandmother, Hillary.

Hillary Clinton is the first grandmother to be the presumptive nominee of a major party in American political history. NBC was among the legion of mainstream media voices reminding Americans to set aside their politics and acknowledge this achievement.

Note: This article earlier spelled the name "Aiden."
