Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Matthew Continetti during an appearance on MSNBC Monday said that President Donald Trump's agenda is more popular than he is.
Continetti weighed in on Trump's poll numbers and cooperation with Congress.
Host Steve Kornacki asked Continetti for his take on how Trump is holding up with his voters. Continetti said that it's hard to say how things really stand.
"I think the Trump agenda, the nationalist agenda, is more popular than Trump the man," Continetti said. "And as we see that again and again in these polls, and so, that kind of gives Trump an opportunity."
"What he needs to do is deliver, and so what I think what you've seen in many polls is even his supporters kind of voicing criticism about say his tweeting habit," he continued.
"That's because they want to see the results, and so it's up to Trump to provide the results, and it's an open question whether he'll be able to do that in the next two years," Continetti explained.
Regarding Trump's proposed budget plan, Continetti says that Congress will cooperate with Trump.
