New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D.) is facing multiple primary challengers as he vies for a third term as governor.

Three other Democrats are getting ready to potentially challenge Cuomo for the Democratic nomination next year, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The mayor of Syracuse, Stephanie Miner, is considered a potential challenger, as term limits prevent her for running for mayor again. Miner could also run for a seat in the House of Representatives.

Terry Gipson, a former state legislator who served one term before losing reelection, has been talking with liberal groups across the state, and could also run for the top office in the state.

Actress and liberal activist Cynthia Nixon is also being floated as a potential candidate for the governorship. Nixon was on the HBO show "Sex and the City," and campaigned for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. Nixon has previously considered running for office.
