An attempted stabbing attack was thwarted in Abu Dis in East Jerusalem on Monday, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The attack came during President Donald Trump's two-day trip to Israel.

The assailant, who was attempting to stab a Border Police officer, was shot and "neutralized," Israel police stated.

The medical condition of the attacker remain unreported. No Israelis were harmed during the attack.

The attack came while President Trump and his entourage were on their way to the Western Wall. Shortly thereafter, Trump became the first ever sitting president to visit the Western Wall.
