NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell yelled at State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert on Thursday that President Donald Trump wasn't doing anything to combat Russia's actions, only to have Nauert say what the administration has done to Russia.
Nauert condemned Russia's support for the Assad regime in Syria and their attacks on civilians in Syria as well as election meddling around the world.
"We are tough on Russia, we call out Russia I think when it is necessary. What has happened in the UK, we remain firmly standing with our ally, the British government. We've had a lot of conversations with the British government over the coming days so we stand squarely behind them on this."
"Who is the 'we,' by the way, who is the 'we' because it's not including the President of the United States," Mitchell said.
Nauert responded by mentioning multiple recent cases where Trump has called out Russian responsibility for their actions. Mitchell tried to interrupt Nauert before she finished her response.
Nauert also mentioned sanctions levied against Russia on Thursday. Mitchell complained that the sanctions were insufficient. Nauert said that more sanctions would likely come against Russia.
