Former basketball star Amar’e Stoudemire had harsh words for Black Lives Matter supporters and politicians who refused to condemn Hamas’s deadly terrorist attacks that left hundreds of Israelis dead over the weekend.
"I woke up this morning with some disturbing news out of Israel—that Hamas kidnapping children, putting them in cages, killing women, killing the elderly. That’s some coward shit," Stoudemire said in a Sunday Instagram video.
"And for all y’all Black Lives Matter [supporters] ain’t saying nothing, 'Well let me figure out exactly what’s happening before saying anything,' Fuck you."
Stoudemire went on to criticize politicians who have failed to express support for Israel. "All you politicians who always have something to say on the contrary—I see you. Fuck you. All you Black Lives Matter people who always have something to say and always supported everything else and you quiet now—fuck you too."
The former New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns forward received Israeli citizenship in 2019 and completed his conversion to Judaism in 2020.
Hours after the terrorist attacks, in which Hamas militants killed 700 Israelis and kidnapped dozens more, the Democratic Socialists of America’s New York City branch announced a rally in support of the Palestinian cause. Several hundred gathered in Times Square on Sunday to cheer the deaths of Israeli civilians.
The party’s ranks include all four members of the progressive "Squad"—Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Cori Bush (Mo.), and Ilhan Omar (Minn.)—as well as Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.) and Greg Casar (Texas).
