•What happened: Hillary Clinton, the former public-speaking pioneer who facilitated Donald Trump's election victory in 2016, finally told the truth.
• During a panel discussion at the Baker Institute last week, Clinton blasted anti-Israel activists for demanding a ceasefire amid the Israeli military's ongoing campaign to eradicate Hamas in Gaza.
• "People who are calling for a ceasefire now do not understand Hamas. That is not possible," Hillary said, factually. "It would be such a gift to Hamas because they would spend whatever time there was a ceasefire in effect rebuilding their armaments, you know, creating stronger positions to be able to fend off an eventual assault by the Israelis."
Why it matters: Those of us on the right side of history—in this case, the ones who think Hamas, the terrorist thugs who murdered hundreds of civilians, are the bad guys—should be alarmed that Hillary Clinton has concurred with this position, however self-evidently true it may be.
• Hillary is very often on the wrong side of history. In 2016, for example, she tried to stop Trump from becoming president. She played a role in some of America's worst foreign policy disasters.
• Nevertheless, the truth remains the truth. In this case, even Hillary Clinton is right. Hamas terrorists are bad and deserve to be wiped out, not praised as "martyrs" or "freedom fighters" or "decolonizers." A ceasefire would only embolden the terrorists to carry out more attacks, because that is what terrorists do.
