After facing backlash on social media for being "transphobic," British actress Alice Eve has apologized for saying that Bruce Jenner is not a woman, adding that she has "deep compassion and support" for Jenner, according to People magazine.
Eve had previously said that if Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist, was always a woman than he would not have even been given the chance to pursue an athletic career.
"[If Jenner] were a woman, no one would have even heard of [Jenner] because women can't compete in the decathlon," said Eve. "Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman."
Eve's career took off after her role in Star Trek Into Darkness. The films producer Damon Lindelof was forced to apologize for including the below scene in the film, in which Eve strips down to her underwear, which many found to be unnecessary, but the Washington Free Beacon found it to be important for character development. Indeed, it is the only part of that movie which we have watched repeatedly.
This was Eve at the premiere for Star Trek, wearing a full dress:
And here is Eve on the beach in Miami:
She was seen in Miami from multiple angles.
And in multiple outfits.
She also went to the pool.
The Free Beacon accepts Eve's apology.
