What happened: A mob of pro-Hamas hooligans verbally abused an 80-year-old man before vandalizing his home and memory care facility in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

• The angry mob accused the elderly man, President Joseph R. Biden, of enabling a "genocide" in Gaza while it chanted the genocidal slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free." One sign spotted near the elderly man's home suggested he got sexually aroused by "killing babies."

• The so-called protesters—marching in support of the "martyrs" of Hamas, the terrorist group that murdered more than 1,400 Israelis on October 7—defaced several historic monuments in the elderly man's neighborhood before surrounding his home, which also serves as a memory care facility overseen by Dr. Jill Biden, Ed.D., and vandalizing the gates.

What they're saying: Mary Bruce, chief White House correspondent for ABC News, posted photos of the gates outside the elderly man's home covered in red hand prints intended to resemble blood. The vandalism, Bruce wrote, was perpetrated by "passionate" protesters.

Crucial context: As far as the mainstream media are concerned, liberal protesters (and looters and rioters) are "passionate" whereas conservative protesters are "seething with rage and resentment."

Why it matters: Left-wing anti-Semites want Israel to agree to Hamas's demand for a ceasefire in order to prevent Israel from annihilating the terrorist organization. They view the Biden administration's call for humanitarian "pauses" in Israeli military operations as insufficient to ensure Hamas's protection from retaliation.

• Demands for a ceasefire in Gaza have been rejected by prominent Democrats. Hillary Clinton said last month that a ceasefire with a terrorist organization was "not possible." People suggesting otherwise "do not understand Hamas," she argued. The terrorists would simply use that time to rearm themselves and fortify their positions.

• Former House speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) agreed that a ceasefire would be "a gift to Hamas," a loathsome group that targets children. Sen. John Fetterman (D., Pa.) said the United States must support Israel's efforts to "eliminate" the terrorist organization. "Hamas does not want peace, they want to destroy Israel," he wrote. "We can talk about a ceasefire after Hamas is neutralized."

Bottom line: Anti-Semitism is out of control.

Be smart: Most anti-Semites are very stupid.
