President Donald Trump focused on the stock market and the media on Twitter Tuesday morning, saying that the economy is doing great while lashing out at the media for how it covers him.

Trump again targeted the media, reiterating that it is untrustworthy. He said that he would continue bringing his message out through social media, and lambasted the critics who say his tweeting is counterproductive.

Trump argued that the media "seldom mentions" the soaring stock market, implying that it does not want to credit him. He also praised Stuart Varney and "Fox and Friends" for reporting on record corporate profits.

Trump has stoked controversy by using Twitter in ways that many have found inappropriate. When he tweeted an announcement that transgender Americans would not be allowed in the armed forces, even those who supported the policy critiqued Trump's choice to use Twitter. Often when his tweets are mundane, criticism from media outlets still comes in force.

Trump's use of Twitter has drawn general criticism from his opponents and even many of his supporters. In a June Fox News poll, 71 percent of voters said that Trump's tweeting hurts his agenda, and another poll found that a majority of Republicans think that Trump tweets too much.
