White House press secretary Sean Spicer will hold his first press briefing in nearly three weeks, he announced Monday.
Spicer will address reporters at an off-camera briefing on Monday afternoon, the Hill reported.
During Spicer's absence, he has taken many of the responsibilities of the White House communications director, a role which has been left vacant since Mike Dubke resigned in early June.
Spicer's deputy, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, has taken press conference duties in recent weeks. White House reporters have expressed frustration with the briefings being held off-camera, saying it shows a lack of transparency.
Rumors of a replacement for Spicer have persisted for months, particularly after he relegated many of his public duties to Sanders, but there have been no concrete changes thus far.
