Reporters Repeatedly Ask Spicer Same Question on Comey Tapes, Get Same Answer

White House press secretary Sean Spicer was repeatedly asked the same question during Monday's press briefing about whether President Donald Trump would give any more information about tapes of conversations he had with former FBI Director James Comey.

Spicer responded with the same answer each time.

The first reporter asked Spicer if the tapes exist and when they may be released. Spicer said that he would have an announcement on the matter when he was ready.

A second reporter asked shortly afterward about the tapes and why they were not being released now. Spicer again referred to a past press conference when the president discussed the matter.

Finally, NBC's Hallie Jackson asked for the third time.

"What is he waiting for?" Jackson asked. "What's the delay?"

"He's not waiting for anything," Spicer said. "When he's ready to further discuss it, he will."

"But I think he laid out his position very clearly, very concisely on Friday," Spicer concluded.
