Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.V.) found himself at a loss for words during an MSNBC appearance on Tuesday while discussing President Trump's alleged disclosure of code-word classified U.S. intelligence to Russian officials.
Manchin, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, explained to MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that if he were to disclose classified intelligence, there would be serious consequences.
"There's 81 senators I cannot speak to," Manchin said. "When they ask me a question, I can't talk to them. Even my own staff I can't talk to, so I know the sincerity and also the gravity of what we're dealing with here, and I take that very serious."
"If I breach that, I know I'll be thrown off the committee and maybe even more," he continued. "So, with that being said, I can't even explain the–what happens from there, I really can't."
"You're at a loss of words?" Brzezinski asked.
"I am," Manchin responded.
"I mean that with all due respect, because we are as well," Brzezinski said.
