Bill Nye, CEO of the Planetary Society, debated climate change with Tucker Carlson of Fox News Monday evening, but then switched gears and blamed the Trump administration for White House intelligence leaks.
Nye was arguing that climate change is caused by human activity "100 percent," explaining how fast the climate is changing today compared to the ages before humans. He used examples of how the planet's ecosystems have changed from human use of pesticides.
Carlson asserted that Nye does not know whether his examples are true, and said, "I’m open-minded and you are not."
Nye finished the debate by bringing up the White House leaks.
"I can tell you why there are leaks," he said. "Because the president has created two factions in his administration. You don't like each other so they leak, its not from the outside its from the inside."
Carlson laughed and called the remark "ominous."
Bill Nye, who rose to fame hosting the PBS educational children's show "Bill Nye the Science Guy" from 1993-98, once appeared to advocate that the deniers of global warming should be imprisoned, causing the founder of the Weather Channel John Coleman to call Nye a "pretend scientist in a bow tie", according to a report from The Blaze.
Nye has a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and also writes books for children about science.
