Toddler Rushes to Hug His Military Mom as She Returns from Afghanistan

Nothing could stop Cooper Waldvogel from rushing to hug his military mom once he saw her, not even military rules.

Little Cooper rushed into his mother's arms right in the middle of the ceremony dismissing her division upon their return from Afghanistan, according to KARE.

The 3-year-old boy could not wait for his mom to be dismissed after serving nine months in Afghanistan with the National Guard's 114th Transportation Company based in Chisholm, Minn.

He ran to her Tuesday morning while she and her fellow soldiers stood in line waiting to be dismissed.

Cooper's mother was not upset that he technically broke military protocol. In fact, she was thrilled.

"I was longing to hold him; that's all that I thought about," said his mother, 25-year-old Kathryn Waldvogel.

Cooper is now back with both of his parents and, as IJ Review pointed out, is ecstatic.
