Washington Free Beacon writer Ellison Barber appeared on Fox News' Happening Now Tuesday to analyze President Obama's floundering poll numbers and Obamacare's effects on them.
Barber said it was significant that his approval rating was down to 43 percent with a disapproval mark of 55, both numbers worse than those of his predecessors Bill Clinton and George W. Bush at this stage in their second terms, and demonstrated the negative impact Obamacare's rollout has had on the White House.
"I think it's a testament to the kind of strain that the Affordable Care Act has been on him," she said. "You saw with the recent poll with millenials, you have 56 percent disapproving of the Affordable Care Act, 57 disapprove of it when it's called Obamacare, so he has a lot of problems and it really is tied to the signature legislation that has his name on it."
The ABC News / Washington Post poll also revealed 60 percent supported delaying Obamacare's individual health insurance mandate.
"That's significant because up until now you've had the administration being adamant that they won't be delaying it," Barber said. "It will be interesting to see the gap between the 23rd of December and 1st of January, how many of those people who lost their insurance were able to successfully reenroll in the exchanges to get their coverage back. Because if they aren't, I think you're going to see a stronger push for delay."
