Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said she doesn’t think President Joe Biden will make it through a second term, a point she says could make the 2024 election a referendum on Vice President Kamala Harris.
"He's announced that he’s running again in 2024, and I think that we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden you really are counting on a President Harris, because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely," Haley, the former ambassador to the United Nations, told Fox News on Thursday.
Biden officially entered the 2024 race on Tuesday with a video announcement. He has not held a live event to announce his bid with Harris.

Former president and 2024 candidate Donald Trump also took aim at Biden’s age this week. He mocked Biden for the video launch, suggesting the pre-recorded announcement was meant to conceal Biden's frequent displays of confusion during live events.
"You’d think at least one time he’d get up and say, ‘I’m running for president, where am I going, where the hell am I going, I want to get out,’" Trump mocked, walking around and pretending to be lost and confused.
Biden is often caught on video searching for exits and appearing confused when he ends speeches.
The GOP candidates' poking fun at Biden’s age comes as many in the president’s own party worry about his ability to serve a second term. A Friday report showed that Biden works few hours and often takes off weekends.
The Washington Post in recent weeks interviewed Democratic voters who said the president's frequent verbal slip-ups and physical stumbles are raising questions about whether he should run for a second term.
Biden faces the lowest support from within his own party for a second term among modern presidents.
Just 38 percent of Democrats said the party should nominate Biden for reelection, compared with 57 percent who want to find another plausible candidate, accordingto an average of polls conducted throughout his first term published by the Post on Monday. Trump had 70 percent of the Republican Party's support for a reelection bid.
