Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W. Va.) said unions are getting caught in a "quid pro quo" with the Obama administration over provisions in the Affordable Care Act Thursday on Fox News.
Manchin said unions supported Obamacare in good faith with hopes their members would be able to maintain their health coverage.
Instead, the Obama administration is now implementing the law such that many union members will lose their union negotiated insurance and be forced to buy government subsidized healthcare.
Manchin noted this puts unions in a dilemma as it strips away one of the principal benefits their organizations offer to working class people.
