Hillary Clinton said Democratic nominee Joe Biden "should not concede under any circumstances" in the upcoming election, citing potential issues with mail-in voting.

"Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out," Clinton told former aide Jennifer Palmieri on the Circus, which airs on Showtime. "Eventually, I do believe he will win if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is."

Clinton told Palmieri Republicans would likely interfere with absentee balloting. "They believe that helps them so that they then get maybe a narrow advantage in the Electoral College on Election Day," she asserted.

"We’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that."

While Clinton and fellow Democrats claim that Republicans will take advantage of mail-in voting, left-wing super PACs spent $7.5 million on ads encouraging voters in battleground states to request mail-in ballots rather than vote in person. New digital advertisements from Senate Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action target voters who have a history of in-person voting, new voters, and voters of color.

In the weeks leading up to the 2016 election, Clinton, then the Democratic presidential nominee, said if Donald Trump refused to accept the election results he would pose a "direct threat to our democracy."

"To say you won’t respect the results of the election, that is a direct threat to our democracy," Clinton said at a rally at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016. "The peaceful transfer of power is one of the things that makes America America."
