National Journal senior political columnist Ron Fournier claimed the Obama administration has continuously used incompetence as a defense for its many scandals.
"This government in particular has used incompetence as a defense against some of these scandals," Fournier said Monday on Fox and Friends.
Fournier said Americans do not trust the government or private institutions when it comes to critical issues like the Ebola crisis.
He underscored "a lack of candor and lack of competence" is one of the most "pernicious problems of our time."
A recent poll shows only eight percent of Americans have a "great deal" of trust in the government.
