A Super PAC ad in support of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D., La.) blasts the Koch Brothers, but declines to mention that the Democratic incumbent has received more than $50,000 from the philanthropists since 2000.
Town Hall reports:
According to a recent Politico investigation into the Koch brothers and how they spend their money, it appears that the Kochs don’t just give to Republicans, like so many people believe, and in fact have given money to Senator Mary Landrieu. They found that since 2000, Ms. Landrieu has accepted $55,000 from the KochPAC.
As the Washington Free Beacon previously reported, Landrieu has received $27,000 since 2000 from Koch Industries, and another $35,000 from KochPAC, including $15,000 in the current election cycle.
Senate Majority PAC, which is run by former aides to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), paid for the ad that blames the "out-of-state billionaire Koch brothers" for "cutting off hurricane relief for Louisiana families."
The Washington Post called the ad "nonsensical" and "egregious."
"First of all, we can’t resist noting that Senate Majority PAC itself is funded by out-of-state billionaires, such as former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who donated $2.5 million to the organization earlier in 2014," the paper’s "fact checker" said.
The ad received "four Pinocchios," keeping up with the Senate Majority PAC’s "pretty dreadful track record."
