President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry dined at a pricey Paris restaurant Monday night while in France for the U.N. climate talks.

The Washington Post reported that Obama, Kerry, French President François Hollande, and a number of others gathered for dinner Monday evening at the L’Ambroisie, an expensive restaurant that, according to Zagat, offers "lavish" prices and "spoils" and "pampers" its guests.

The restaurant has received three Michelin stars, the average meal costing between 210 and 330 euros, or $223-350, per person, according to the Michelin Guide. Zagat puts the price of an average meal at a slightly lower price--184 euros, or $195--indicating that the average American would have to work at least two and a half days to pay for a single meal at L’Ambroisie.

The average person makes $28,155 in a year, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, which breaks down to $77.14 per day when evenly distributed across all 365 days. A meal costing $195 is 2.5 times the amount of money the average American accumulates per day.

If the meal is priced at $350, the higher bound stipulated by the Michelin guide, the average American would need to work four and a half days to pay for the supper.

It is unclear what Obama ate during the dinner, but the president told reporters that he would solicit recommendations from Hollande.
