The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released a new ad on Monday hitting South Carolina Democratic gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen for defending violent criminals.
Sheheen defended dozens of violent criminals as a trial lawyer, negotiating plea deals down to probation for wife beaters, cop hitters, drug dealers, and child sex offenders.
The RGA said Sheheen’s career was "dedicated to representing dangerous criminals, reducing their jail time, and putting them back on the street."
The ad focuses on Isiah Outten, Jr., who was arrested for "having sexual intercourse with a child." Sheheen negotiated a plea agreement that had Outten’s term reduced to 38 days.
