Iowa Voter: I Would Not Give Hillary Clinton a Ride in My Car

November 3, 2015

In a segment on MSNBC Tuesday, Iowa voters told correspondent Jacob Soboroff that they would not give Hillary Clinton a ride in their car, even if she "really wanted a ride."

"Would you let any presidential candidates take a ride in this car?" Soboroff asked a pair of Iowans riding in an antique red convertible."Probably Ben Carson," one of them said. The pair said they were welcome to giving other GOP candidates a ride, too.

"Would you let Carly Fiorina in this car?" Soboroff asked.

"Sure," he said.

They were not as inclined to let Clinton in their car.

"What if Hillary really wanted a ride?" Soboroff asked.

"She would have to walk behind us," the Iowan said.

Clinton is visiting Iowa on Tuesday in a bid for voter support.

LIBERAL IOWAN: I like the fact that who hasn't been bought.

SOBOROFF: Not a lot of big money behind Bernie Sanders.

LIBERAL IOWAN: Exactly. It's all organically grown, you know what I mean?

LIBERAL IOWAN: No, no, no, seriously.

SOBOROFF: According to a recent poll, the top three issues for Iowa Republicans are the deficit, defense, and taxes. Democrats pick energy, income inequality, and infrastructure.

IOWAN: Education would be the big thing.

IOWAN: Abortion. Gun rights.

IOWAN: Trying to get the economy stable and on track.

SOBOROFF: What if Hillary really wanted a ride?

CONSERVATIVE IOWAN: She would have to walk behind us.

SOBOROFF: OK, you guys have a great day.
