CNN's Carol Costello took a direct jab Friday morning at Vice President Joe Biden and the entire Democratic field running for president for their lack of diversity.
"Let’s switch gears and talk Joe Biden possibly running," Costello said. "If he enters the race, he’ll just be another white person running on the Democratic side, right?"
To add insult to injury, Costello also highlighted the diversity of the Republican field, which boasts an African American, two Hispanics, an Indian American, and one Donald Trump.
"If you take a look at the Republican side, some say it’s the most diverse in history," Costello said.
Disgraced Free Beacon editor Andrew Stiles has noted the lack of diversity and old age of the Democratic party for more than a year.
"I think it's going to hurt the Democratic party because having the trifecta of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Bernie Sanders is really as old Washington establishment as it gets," Amanda Carpenter said.
Biden is 72 years old. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) is 74 years old. Hillary Clinton is 67 years old.
"It's just plain kinda old," Costello said.
When confronted by Jorge Ramos, DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz played off the lack of diversity among the Democratic candidates by pointing out that President Obama is African American.
"When I was watching the debate, what I was thinking was the Democratic Party lacked diversity," Ramos said. "I didn’t see a Latino, or an African-American, or an Asian on that stage."
Biden received the go-ahead to run for president from his family this week.
"His family is totally on board," one top Democrat told CNN this week. "He wants to do this."
The vice president has told aides to be prepared in case he decides to enter the race and challenge Clinton for the nomination.
