Bill Clinton on Sanders Supporters: 'Just Shoot Every Third Person on Wall Street'

April 15, 2016

During a rally for his wife in Washington Heights, Bill Clinton ripped supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) by insinuating that they would just shoot every third person on Wall Street.

"I think it's fine that all these young students have been so enthusiastic for her opponent and say, ‘It's all good, just shoot every third person on Wall Street and everything will be fine,’," he said.

He prefaced this comment with noting that this was one of the parts of the primary that he hasn't necessarily enjoyed.

US News reported on Friday the comments that Clinton said to a small audience at a rally in New York City.

"He devoted most of his speech to intricate details of his wife's plans to alleviate student debt, incentivize cleaner energy sources and train more skilled workers for high-paying jobs. But, as he has in the past, Clinton couldn't help himself from wandering into the spirited electoral battle between his wife and Sanders..."

This swipe came the day after his wife and Sanders engaged in a very heated debate in Brooklyn.

Bill Clinton has been getting some bad press recently due to his remarks on the campaign trail. The most recent outburst was his confrontation with Black Lives Matter protesters.
