ABC’s Robin Roberts and Jon Karl described the meeting to occur between President Obama and Hillary Clinton as "awkward" on Wednesday’s Good Morning America.
The two are set to appear at the same Democratic fundraiser on Martha’s Vineyard.
In a recent Atlantic interview Clinton rejected the Obama administration’s self-described foreign policy principle of "Don’t do stupid stuff." Clinton also described the administration’s decision not to assist Syrian rebels early on a "failure."
In an attempt to settle down the war of words a Clinton spokesman said the former secretary of state looks forward to "hugging it out" with her former boss.
