Rep. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) issued a blistering condemnation of Democrats for their hypocritical attacks on Republicans for fundraising off of Benghazi Thursday on the House floor. The remarks were part of his larger statement endorsing the creation of the Benghazi Select Committee.
Cotton reminded his colleagues Democrats endlessly fundraised off of opposition to the Iraq War and in some instances demonized soldiers by accusing them of war crimes.
"Where was the outage when they fundraised endlessly off of the Iraq War?" he asked. "Forgive me if I don't join my Democratic colleagues in their fake outrage."
"Four Americans lost their lives that night in Benghazi. They deserve justice and the American people deserve the truth. One other lesson I learned in the Army is we leave no man behind, we will not leave these four men behind," he said.
