A Baltimore city worker was fired after it was discovered that he was watching porn at his desk full-time.

WTOP Baltimore reports:

WASHINGTON—A Baltimore city employee has been fired after it was discovered that he had watched 39 hours of pornography on the job over a two-week period.

The worker was a maintenance supervisor with the Department of Public Works, and brought a DVD of pornography to work, the Baltimore Sun reports. One day that he was being monitored, he watched it for nearly seven hours of his workday, the inspector general tells the Sun.

The worker was suspended without pay in September, though it took an additional four months to fire him on Jan. 20.

According to an inspector general report, the government employee watched his porn in "full-screen mode."

"Officials thusly believe that the employee was doing little, if any, work while the DVD was playing," WTOP said.

The employee watched porn for seven out of eight work hours, while taking home roughly $1,200 in salary over the two-week period.

The Baltimore Sun pointed out "over the course of a full year, the same rate of viewing would result in 951 hours over a 2,000-hour work year. Based on the employee's salary, that would equal about $28,400 worth of pay."
