MSNBC reports on what could be a game-changing development in the 2016 presidential race:

Likely Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has taken another step closer in what appears to be a plan to run for president in the 2016 election.

The former secretary of state’s campaign most recently hired Kristina Schake, a veteran image adviser who shaped first lady Michelle Obama’s public perception into a down-to-earth image, NBC News confirmed on Monday. ...

It is expected that Clinton will declare her intent to run for president in the next few weeks. Her campaign likely is to focus on her personal narrative, a contrast to her presidential bid in 2008.

Schake has been credited with making the first lady into a relatable mom, including dancing with host Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," participating in a push-up competition with comedian Ellen DeGeneres, and shopping at Target.

If the plan is to have Hillary follow in Michelle’s footsteps by dancing with late night hosts and taking part in push-up competitions, Schake has her work cut out for her. (Though both of those options sound more realistic than convincing Hillary to set foot in a Target.)

Speaking of Target, it is not known if Schake played a role Michelle Obama's revelation that she was a victim of racial discrimination during her trip to the retail chain. In a 2014 interview with People Magazine, the first lady suggested that a fellow Target shopper who asked for help reaching something on a high shelf was motivated by racism. "She didn't see me as the first lady," Obama, who is almost six feet tall, said in the interview. "She saw me as someone who could help her."

One way Hillary could become more relatable—and brandish her credentials as a new grandmother—is by making a series of surprise visits to daycare centers across the country. She looks so natural.
