Virginia congressional hopeful Shak Hill has used his Twitter account to interact with graphic pornographic material, according to a Washington Free Beacon review.
Hill, who announced earlier this month that he was challenging Republican representative Barbara Comstock, is running as a "conservative" in Virginia's 10th Congressional District. A review of his active Twitter account indicates he failed to sanitize it prior to his congressional run.
Among the tweets he has "liked" on the website is a March 25, 2015, post from @TotalOrgy that reads, "Would you share you wife/gf like this? #TwitterAfterDark #NSFW #orgy."
The tweet includes an image of a woman being penetrated on top of a pile of money in front of spectators.
It is unclear how Hill came across the tweet from @TotalOrgy. He does not follow the account.
He does, however, follow other Twitter accounts that specialize in sharing pornographic material.
One such account is that of verified Canadian porn star Khloe Terae, who uses her @Khloe Twitter page to regularly post pictures of herself wearing little to no clothing. The banner image on her page shows Terae posing for Playboy, and her bio clearly indicates she is a 15-time cover girl for the adult magazine.
Hill follows another graphic account, @N*****D***MD, whose owner says in the bio, "What can I say besides I have the worlds biggest black snake in my trousers. Ohh yeah, I got a Doctorate from Brown in between f—ing a bunch of sluts."
The account's most recent activity was retweeting "TheDiaryofAnneSpank" asking, "who wants a piece of my pie?"
Hill told the Free Beacon that inquiries into his tweets were "completely ridiculous" and blamed "some previous staffer" for his "social media tweet mistakes."
"This is completely ridiculous—at a time when people are losing their health care, our nation is divided, and Washington has stopped listening to the people, the last thing people want to talk about is some previous staffer's social media tweet mistakes," he said.
Hill said he has since "rectified the situation." He has unfollowed both accounts and removed his "like."
The review of Hill's Twitter account comes after the discovery that his personal website included numerous posts on sexual topics such as penis enlargement and prostate milking. He said that the posts under his name on the website he owns were posted automatically.
Hill responded to the Free Beacon report on his website by saying it was a "false story" that came from a "3rd rate reporter at a 4th rate newspaper."
A national Republican strategist who was briefed on Hill's Twitter activity said he should "think twice" about his run for office.
"Shak Hill actively engaging in this type of racist smut is an indictment on both his character and on his quixotic campaign," said the strategist. "Hill may want to think twice about continuing his run for office before he causes himself and his family further embarrassment."
Hill follows just 2,578 accounts on Twitter, making it unlikely that he employs any sort of automatic following software. He has liked 540 tweets.
