Trump Watches Ad of Him Making Offensive Remarks About Women, Calls it 'Show Business'

March 21, 2016

Donald Trump had to watch an Our Principles PAC ad Monday on CNN featuring his own offensive remarks about women in the past, and he reacted on the other side by calling much of it "show business."

Situation Room host Wolf Blitzer told Trump he'd probably already seen the ad but was going to play it anyway during their lengthy in-studio interview, to which Trump quipped, "I'm sure I'll love seeing it."

The Free Beacon reported on the ad earlier:

They read out quotes from Trump referring to women with such terms as "bimbo," "fat pig," and "dog."

"A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a ’10,’" a woman quotes Trump saying.

Past remarks Trump made about Carly Fiorina, Megyn Kelly, and Princess Diana that referred disparagingly to, respectively, their face, menstrual cycle and psyche all are included as well:

"I like kids. I mean, I won’t do anything to take care of them. I’ll supply funds, and she’ll take care of the kids."

"You know, it really doesn’t matter what they write, as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass."

"That must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knees."

"Women. You have to treat them like shit."

Trump kept a straight face as the remarks rolled.

"Has your language come back to haunt you?" Blitzer asked.

"No, I think people understand," Trump said. "First of all, half of that was show business. The dropping to the knees, that was in the Apprentice ... I think people understand--look, these politicians, I know them. They say far worse when they're in closed doors or where they're with a group of people that they trust. A lot of that's show business stuff."

Trump also said he hadn't even heard of some of the statements accredited to him in the ad.

"But that's not how you feel about women?" Blitzer asked.

"Of course not," Trump said. "Nobody respects women more than I do. Nobody takes care of women--and they take care of me, because they do such a great job ... It's show business. I don't even know some of those statements. I mean, I'm hearing those statements. I don't even know what they are. Nobody respects women more than I do."
