President Donald Trump on Wednesday night described news reports of him calling the White House a "dump" as fake news.
Golf.com published an article on Tuesday claiming Trump told members of his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., that the White House is a dump.
"Chatting with some members before a recent round of golf, he explained his frequent appearances: 'That White House is a real dump,'" the article states.
Trump denied the reports and called the allegations "totally untrue" in a tweet Wednesday night.
I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen. But Fake News said I called it a dump - TOTALLY UNTRUE

But journalists were quick to report on the comment.
Time magazine reported that former White House residence staff were upset by Trump's comment. Bob Scanlan, a former White House florist, said the comment was "hurtful."
Former White House occupant Chelsea Clinton also appeared to take a shot at Trump for calling the White House a dump.
Thank you to all the White House ushers, butlers, maids, chefs, florists, gardeners, plumbers, engineers & curators for all you do every day https://t.co/rjQS9HeALG
