MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle said Thursday that President Donald Trump's White House has been bad for women and girls.
Discussing the upcoming executive order protecting religious liberty, the Wall Street Journal's Eli Stokols noted that it did not go as far as many religious conservatives wanted. He speculated that it may have something to do with the conflicting voices Trump often listens to.
"So far, we have not seen too many signs of [Vice President] Mike Pence's influence and real powers of persuasion on this president yet," he said. "We know the influence of his daughter Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner. "
"How do you know their influence?" Ruhle interrupted.
"I just feel like we say that all the time, but Ivanka Trump says she represents 'Women and girls, women and girls,' and when I look at what the administration has done in terms of rights for women and girls, it's not a positive," Ruhle continued.
"You're right," Stokols said.
"So it sounds like a great sound bite that you're getting from the White House," Ruhle added.
