MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell argued Wednesday that President Donald Trump may only have another year or so left in office.
"President Nixon got a special prosecutor assigned to investigate his administration five years into his presidency–a presidency that survived only one more year," O'Donnell recalled on his show "The Last Word."
O'Donnell then continued to note the special prosecutors who investigated the Reagan, Clinton, and Bush administrations, and how quickly they acted.
"I'm bringing back all these scenarios to you so that you can imagine one of these versions playing out with different names in 2017, or 2018," he said.
O'Donnell then cited comments from Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain, who said the Trump-Russia controversy is "reaching the point where it's of Watergate size and scale."
"If that's true ... then Donald Trump might only have 14 months left in his presidency," O'Donnell said. "That's how long it took a special prosecutor to get rid of President Nixon."
