Columnist Charles Krauthammer, part of a conservative contingent of journalists who had an off-the-record meeting with President Obama last week, quipped Sunday that Obama figured if he could talk to Iranian president Hassan Rowhani, he could talk to Krauthammer.
Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz interviewed Krauthammer about the meeting on Media Buzz:
HOWARD KURTZ: Charles, I can't ask you about an off-the-record meeting, but what do you make of President Obama inviting some of his most constant conservative critics to the White House?
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Well, I think he's at a critical juncture where he's taking a lot of heat from the right and the left. He's got deadlines coming up, and I think he wants to make as many friends as he can, or at least to make his case. The other interpretation is that if he can talk to Hassan Rowhani, he figured he can now talk to me.
