Keith Olbermann, a special correspondent for GQ and former MSNBC host, accused Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) on Thursday of using his two daughters as props in a picture with President Trump.
Cruz, accompanied by his wife Heidi and their two daughters, had dinner with Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Wednesday night where they discussed the Republican legislation to repeal and replace former President Obama's landmark health care law.
Cruz tweeted out a picture of his daughters with Trump, complimenting the president and first lady for being "warm and gracious."
Our family had dinner w the President & First Lady, who were warm & gracious. Catherine brought Joe--her kindergarten class stuffed giraffe! pic.twitter.com/fJ5GvuZ98B

Cruz's lighthearted picture of his daughters with Trump drew scorn from Olbermann, who said that Cruz has no principles.
Senator, it's not that you don't have principles - you don't even have ONE principle. Using your kids as political props for Dear Leader! https://t.co/n9EuYOGdPm

Olbermann went further in a follow-up tweet by telling Cruz to "flee the country" after referencing past comments that Trump made on the campaign trail against Cruz's family during the Republican primaries last year.
I mean do they know what he said about "grabbing"? Or about your wife? Or your father? Have some self-respect, Senator: Flee the country https://t.co/n9EuYOGdPm

Olbermann has been a staunch critic of Republicans for several years and has been criticizing Trump since he announced that he was running for president.
He tweeted on Wednesday that we "no longer have a President. We have a gossip monger."
