Democratic National Committee chair Tom Perez refused to say President Donald Trump's name during a rally Monday, seemingly equating it to profanity.
"Our most important power is not the mister in the White House, I can't even mention his name," Perez said during a speech at a May Day protest. "Our most important power is the power of all of you."

Perez has repeatedly shown he is not afraid to use profanity. During a stop in Maine with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) on the Democratic "Unity Tour," Perez said, "Those Republican leaders and President Trump don't give a shit about the people they were trying to hurt," while discussing the Republican effort to replace the Affordable Care Act.
While on the same tour in New Jersey, Perez again used profanity to criticize the Republican health care plan.
"You know what embodies the program: 'I Don't Care,' because they don't give a shit about people," he said.
The DNC chair's willingness to use colorful language in his attacks against the Republican Party has drawn the ire of some. CNN's John King called his use of profanity when describing Republicans "unnecessary."
"I think [Perez] can do it with manners," King added.
