Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (Calif.) shared a conversation he had with an online "troll" on Monday in which the congressman pretended to be another person while he joked about "hating" and plotting to kill himself.
"Fun with trolls," Swalwell tweeted along with screenshots of the conversation with the troll.
"Russian-Curler-fails-drug-test-authorities-explore-sabotage-possibility! OMG What is this world coming to? LMAO 😜 Eric, are you sure you lying, corrupt SCUM didn't "LEAK" this story??," the troll message said.
Swalwell responded with "New phone, who dis?"
"Sorry, that number used to belong to Congressman Swallwell. I'd take your phone back and demand a new #," the troll said.
"Congressman Swalwell? That liberal hippy! No way," Swalwell said, pretending not to be the congressman.
"Yep, I'm afraid so! Good luck! 👍🏻," the troll said.
The conversation escalated to a new level when Swalwell disparaged himself, joked about plotting to kill the congressman, and asked the troll if he was "in."
"I can't stand him. I've actually been plotting to kill him. I think I've found out where he lives. You in?" Swalwell said. "He is just the worst."
The troll responded by telling Swalwell to "Fuck Off."
