When asked who would hit political enemies harder, CBS's John Dickerson said that between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Clinton would be more vindictive.
The Daily Caller was first reported on this on Friday.
"Who do you think would be more vindictive towards their political enemies, Trump or Clinton?" radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt asked.
"I think Clinton," Dickerson said.
Dickerson's rationale was that even though Trump is tough on people he dislikes, he eventually gets over it. He cited the 2008 election, saying that there are people who supported Clinton that originally supported then Sen. Barack Obama and how there are some hard feelings there.
"Trump is very tough on those he does not like, as I know," Dickerson said. "But, he gets over it. And now, having said that, I also think about some of the people who are now supporting Hillary Clinton who supported Obama last time, and where there were really hard feelings and now she's working in sync with them."
An example of Trump moving past not liking a person is his spat with Megyn Kelly. He recently participated in a one-on-one interview with her where the pair seemed to bury the hatchet.
The New York Times reported that Trump was quoted after the interview aired saying that he now likes his relationship with Kelly.
Mr. Trump seemed plenty pleased with it. And after the special, he tweeted, in part: "Well, that is it. Well done Megyn—and they all lived happily ever after!"
Dickerson did admit it was a tough question for him to answer.
Hewitt said that he agreed Clinton would be more vindictive.
"I think it's Clinton. I think your first instinct was right."
