Christie: Jeb Bush Helping Clinton By Not Supporting Trump

July 14, 2016

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R.) blasted former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for not supporting presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in an interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace.

Christie said that Republicans who are not supporting Trump are helping Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. When Wallace asked Christie if that included Bush, who himself ran for president this election cycle, Christie said that it did.

Christie argued that Clinton is far more liberal than Trump, which makes the latter far better for Republicans.

"I believe this is a much better choice than Hillary Clinton, and so I think it’s time for everybody to understand this: if you’re Republican and you’re not working for Donald Trump, you’re working for Hillary Clinton," Christie said.

"So Jeb Bush is helping Hillary Clinton?" Wallace asked.

"Absolutely. I mean, absolutely that’s true," Christie said. "I mean, he’s not trying to, but what I’m saying is that’s the effect of the conduct."

Christie then said that delegates at the Republican convention should be supporting Trump because the voters supported him in the primaries.

Christie has been one of Trump’s biggest supporters, though they were rivals early in the primary process before he suspended his campaign earlier this year.

The media has ridiculed Christie as being a "manservant" for Trump since formally endorsing the business mogul.
